ANCC “Pathway to Excellence Conference” 11-13 November 2021, Atlanta Georgia, had a performance by Candy Campbell as Nightingale returned from heaven, preceded by a video on Mary Elizabeth Mahoney, first African American licensed nurse who pursued greater equality for and women (no mention that she trained at a school using Nightingale methods), Clara Barton and Mary Seacole an icon for nurses of colour, civil rights groups and women’s liberation.
